Would you trade a 50th Anniversary SG for this. Sellers description. "'65 reissue black face Fender Super Reverb amp in great condition. Has upgraded Mercury Magnetics "Tone Clone" transformers and upgraded speakers. 4-10" Weber DT-10 speakers (Derek Trucks).
Has built-in, tilt-back legs and comes with a cover and footswitch. Works perfectly and the sound is amazing! Pure vintage Fender tone!"

If the amp has no issues, it sounds like a pretty good swap on your end by a couple of hundred dollars.

If nothing else, it'll make a pretty decent anchor for a bass boat.

Here is a video of a guy playing through a SR with basically the same mods. Don't know about the guitar he is playing but the amp sounds pretty good.

Think the seller of the amp is on this Forum? There goes the deal.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have made the decision to keep the SG. I was on the fence until playing my SG through my Dual Showman Reverb clean this morning. That did it! What a great tone! Love that amp. SG stays.

Amps come and go but a great guitar is harder to come by. I think you made a wise decision for the long haul. Congrats!

Yes I agree too. Keep the guitar.

Why replaced the transformers in a Super Reverb Reissue, the stock ones are probably fine.
Why call it pure Fender tone with Derek Trucks speakers. That seems more Southern-Rock Allman Bros, (but that might be clean too). I'd think the pure Fender tone is the stock Jenson AlNiCo speakers, those are great speakers.

The guy put a lot of money into the amp and then is selling it?
Sounds like he didn't get the end results he wanted.

As long as Fender still makes the reissue model and you have the money, a stock one is probably fine.
Gibson 50th Sg's, maybe few to be found. Don't sell a good guitar, I regret I have.

+1 My suspicions too. When I get something I really like I tend to keep it. Guitars too. I have a 1963 Supro Martinique that my folks bought me when I was 11 years old. I always loved that guitar and still own it and gig with it today. It's the one in my avatar. Amps, I've had dozens. They change with need. Starter with a Dano DM10, went to a 66 Vibrolux Reverb, had a couple Deluxe Reverbs along the way, a Bandmaster, Sunn Scepter, a 100 watt 76 SF Twin that I gigged with for 30+ years, a HRDlx, gigged with that about three months  , now my amps are 20 watts or less. An Egnater 20, and two home built clones. An 18 watt Marshall and a Tweed Delux 5e3. No more big venues and gig when we feel like it. I don't need a bunch of power or weight anymore and my ears, back and my stones thank me every time I gig.
