Just as you guys had converted me back towards getting the Fender Blues Jnr, last week (the night before I was gonna go buy it) I had an unfortunate accident. I stupidly spilt my coffee all over my laptop. :-(
Believe me, I'm far from being a happy camper at the moment! I'm sure just about everybody knows that feeling when you're looking forward to something so much and then suddenly it can't happen for some reason...well, that's how I'm feeling at the moment. Now I'm using my old desktop and looking at buying another laptop....which, when I think about it, I sort of needed to update anyway so it's not the end of the world. The way I look at life is that I should be thankful that I live in a dwelling that at least has electricity and running water (which 2/3 of the world don't have right now) so I'm not going to get too upset about the situation! Got to keep things in perspective aye?!
At least now I know that the Blues Jnr is probably the best amp for me...just be a bit longer before I get my hands on one, that's all!
:-)

That sucks about your laptop, but maybe you can get a decent one for a reasonable price. You are right, count your blessings, and hopefully you'll get an amp soon enough.

Yes... really sucks that your laptop died. I'd almost be tempted to get the amp anyway in your shoes instead of a new computer - imagine the extra play time without the world wide web to attend to everyday!

Since you are taking a little more time I will post my thoughts on the Ibanez TSA15 combo when I receive it next week. (Couldn't find one in store anywhere.) I had been saving for a Blues Jr. for a year and switched interest to the TSA just in this last month. It has a 15 watt to 5 watt switch making it very convenient for those of us with no intentions of gigging with our practice amp! I am a rookie in the tube arena myself.

Google it when you get your new laptop - and Google "Fender Blues Jr. vs Ibanez TSA" as well. One of your countrymen on one of the forums (Strat Tele Talk I think) gives it an outstanding review and indicates it may be a better value pricewise in AU.

Doubt you could go wrong with a Blues Jr. though if you stay that route. One helluva little combo! Heck, I've never even heard an owner of a Pro Jr. complain and it has only one knob!

Actually, the PJr has two knobs, vol and tone. The complaints about the PJr have been the that the amp was noisy.

Just do yourself a favor and try a lot of amps side by side with one of your own guitars if possible. There are a lot better amps and better built amps out there for the money than a Blues Jr or any Hot Rod series amp. Vox Night Train, Jet City, VHT, Hiwatt all make fine amps for a reasonable cost that have more flexibility than a Blues Jr. I would seriously go with a used DRRI before a HRD amp. Just do a side by side so you can hear it for yourself.
