I have not jammed with other musicians in many many years. I have been working out in the gym with a bunch of regulars, one of which has a husband who lived his life as a professional guitar player in the Michigan area. I got talking to the lady one day and she told me her hubby was a pro guitarist. So I met the two of them one day outside another friends house and I invited him over to play and look around at my studio etc.etc.etc. Today he came over and we set up and played along with my backing tracks. He is a very good rather advanced player turns out, not at all intimidating just a regular guy. We had a ball, and now we have a common goal of jamming away at times, maybe putting together a show and going out with it some time next season. A good day was had by all........Fun........

The guy who came over played into my Hot Rod Deluxe, and he loved the tone. He usually uses a Mesa Stiletto or Express, so the HRD/Cannabis Rex tone was a surprise to him. He commented on it and how much he liked the tone.

That's too cool!

There is nothing quite like the feeling you get when jamming with someone, and make some nice sounds together. 8)

The circumstances were fortunate for you to happen into that situation. As time goes on, I have fewer and fewer people to jam with, what with marriages, people moving, aging, etc. The opportunities for me to jam with others are few and far between, excepting one fairly steady partner, and the occasional reuniting. It's ironic that the better I have gotten at playing, the less I get to play with others. :(

I know what you mean. The same thing happened for me too, the better I got the less chance I had to perform my craft. Hopefully that will change.

It was nice amigo, it was fun, so much so, I pulled the trigger on a better head than my Valve Jr. I got the Ibanez TS 15 head. With the included Tube Screamer thingy in it. It plays a monster clean tone, 6V6 tubes and 2 12 AX 7's, $299 shipped from Sweetwater, on it's way as I type. I did want the foot switch which is on back order till late February. But I got my order in for that too. If I like the TS15 I will pull the trigger on a 1-10 combo cab to match it up to. In the mean time I have my EVM12L's in 1-12 cabs to play the thing through.

Ah! That is something that never seems to fade for me, buying new gear. I do try and add to my collections as often as I can.

Congrats on the new amp, it sounds like a cool one. 8)

Be sure and give a revue when you can.

I just did a redneck repair on my Cannon Camera pdawg. My wife broke the latch on the battery compartment, so it would not stay closed. I was looking for a new digital camera and even sent a Sony one back to Amazon. Anyways the wifey comes home and says that one of her clients suggested she use a rubber band to keep it closed. And dang it, it works again, hundred bucks + saved (till the rubber band beaks that is).

I came so close to pulling the trigger on a TSA-15H on evil bay it had a footswitch included.
Still watching for a bargain on one
I know this is a Fender site but please do let us know what ya think about the tube screamer head when it arrives.
I hear they have an internal bias pot, to me that is a big plus !

I was worried it did not have a fixed adjustable BIAS thanks BB, It is scheduled to be here in a matter of a few hours as I type. I will update on this thread. I know it is a Fender Site, but I also have Fender tube amps and have had very many of them over the years. So I post things of interest to me anyways, and some of the folks here discuss them with me.

All I need from the TS 15 head is a nice round clean sound, The screamer in the amp is a plus I might or might not use. It might be helpful as another boost and addition to the EQ as well. I will use outboard devices for reverb and overdrive.... If it does not work out I will send it back and buy a Super Champ X2 head. I just sold my SCX2 combo and now I realize it was a big mistake to do so.

I hear the TS heads have big bold low end and there was tons of positive comments on the clean side.
Sounds like DRRI territory with a built in OD.
I'm still having so much fun with my VHT Special 6 head (original) I used a 5751 in the pre and a sweet RCA NOS 6V6GT in the power section, open back cabs and I get some nice sounds ! crank her up and she Growls like a tiger !!! 8)

My rig at home in my office, I generally use the VHT for students , I teach a few adults Blues guitar

Blues Bondsman (BB for short) I received the amp yesterday in nice condition. I turned it on and started playing and it was as you said in Deluxe territory. Nice clear clean chime-ee sound, The EQ's took it into all kinds of different tonal territory. I thought a nice addition for 3 hundred bucks. However when I turned off the amp with the standby switch in standby mode the amp made a loud percussive popping sound. I am in the process of trying to get a return authorization and shipping label from Sweetwater, which may happen today.

I did find out that the amp does have a pot to adjust the BIAS, it is glued in place but some other guys on the Gear Page found ways to clear off the glue and BIAS the thing. However I also found out the amp has fuze blowing issues, So I will purchase another brand of amp once I can return this one to Sweetwater. Probably an Egnater Tweaker. Or maybe a Super Champ X2 head, I am absolutely sorry I sold my SCX2 Combo

The percussive pop is just a cap discharging most DRRI's do it too.

I searched high and low looking for complaints, where did you find any ???

Seriously would have given it a little more time ! the pop isn't a problem my DRRI is a 1994 and its done it since day one, no trouble at all.

Do your research on the tweakers ! way more issues than the TSA-15H !

The Gear Page. One guy says his does it, no problem, says to wait 15 seconds before switching the power off. Another said his does not do that, so return it. the TS 15 H also pops louder if I turn it back on right away does tour DRRI pop upon turning it right back on?

Google DRRI pop sound or popping sound
Its just the way the circuit is laid out, not a sign of a problem, this has been talked about for years !
I would certainly give it more time than one day, I believe you have 30 days, yes ???
As far as glue on the bias pot, I'm sure its just to keep it stable, probably pop as soon as you put a flathead to it and then you might want to add more "glue" to keep it from moving and drifting your bias.
what cabs have you tried ?

PS it is proper to turn off the standby wait a few seconds and then shut of the power switch, however my drri still pops even after waiting.
