Not really gigging much anymore and just playing some party's and jams I went back to my favorite small setup a Fender Blues Junior III with some circuit mods, I can get a really nice clean tone with it as a base for pedals. My dirt is the Barber Gain Changer and Barber Compact Direct Drive and using a Boss DD-3 for some added depth on leads, thats about all I need to get a variety of tones and its such a simple setup and best of all light weight!

Loved using my Marshall but I actually prefer the Fender rig with pedals more!

Here is a little sample of the rig going from clean - crunch - distortion just to give you an idea of the tones!

Yep, that's why I got one (BJr II), except I don't even use pedals, just a Strat and amp. Great little amp! 8)

Nice, straight-forward rig.

It is such a joy when you get a guitar and amp working together. The set up seems to give up such a range of tones which were previously blanketed by electronic trickery.

So, the BJr can put a smile on your face with its sound, and keep you warm with the heat generated from it. That makes the BJr a perfect winter companion. :D

This actually got me to buy the blues jr in. I had on the the tweed ones about 6 yrs ago and was not all that impressed with it. Well I just bought another on but just the reg tolex one and so far am very impressed with it. Love the tone with my 335 with no pedals.

tbazzone, which speaker in your new amp? Probably a different speaker than your previous amp, which can make a big difference.

I have a Eminence Cannabis Rex speaker coming today to play around with, usually I like British toned speakers but looking for a little more fullness and less speaker break up so the C Rex may do this nicely for me.
