Hey guys I have the 40th anniversery twin reverb that is blonde. I like it but it is way too heavy for me to carry around, and my old house doesn't even have the power to run it properly! It's not grounded and doesn't have the same wattage required. I was told to look for a deluxe reverb, but that will break up too early probably. Then i was directed at a blues deluxe and I really like this demo, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-Bf21xInXo but that is bound to break up early.

I really think I might be better off with a head and cab, I know this is a fender forum..... but maybe even a vox ac-30 head.

HiThere,

Have you considered mounting your TR in a headshell? Check out this link:
http://www.mojomusicalsupply.com/item.a ... id=4000165 It might be the answer to your prayers!

I was considering doing this with my own TR and have own three of them over the years. However, I came across a used Protube Pro Reverb that I traded my TR for, because of its advantages over a TR (1/2 the power, 1 speaker, & 1/2 the weight which doesn't give you a hernia) and the classic Fender Twin clean. Good luck!

Loved my old TR - so sweet sounding and stinkin' heavy!

I purchased a DRRI - great little amp and lighter too.

If you liked the sound of the Blues Deluxe ReIssue on the demo, go try one out at a store such as a Guitar Center. They are a Blues Amp and do not have the high gain. I play channel 2 Drive on max (12) and can't get much overdrive at volumes that are sane without a tubescreamer pedal. This amp has lots of clean headroom.

If you sell the twin and have additional funds available, I'd suggest getting one of the new 1X12 tweed enclosures to 'stack' under the Blues Deluxe. It weighs just over 40#, the Blues Deluxe around 46#, but two separate pieces to carry, of course. Good sounding and good looking setup! One piece or two depending on the venue.
