Opened up the volume today on both the CDR and CVR and noticed something that kinda sucks.
There is "tick, tick" sound coming from each amp.
This tick sound is rhythmic, meaning it's in time, seems to be around 1 second or a bit under.

I plugged into each amp separately from just the guitars output to the amp in, doesn't matter what amp singles of HB's.
The tick is on either channel in each amp.
Tremolo is if on both amps. I've heard of tick sound that can come from the vibrato circuit but I thought that was with older Fender amps?

Could it be in my house wiring?
It doesn't seem to matter if the fridges or any electric motor device are running or not the tick is there.

Any ideas?
When I get a chance tomorrow I'll pull the tremolo tube/s to see if it makes any difference.
Help, please. :)

First day they do that ? If yes ,check at your house ; cell phone , PC , electrical motor ..

Could it be in my house wiring? Try another house if your answer is yes at my first question. There must be something new happened at your home

Adjust the speed of the "vibrato" and see if the speed of the ticking noise changes.

Take one or both of the amps to work and try them there. Or take them to a friend's house across town or in another city (i.e. far enough away to be going through a different substation in case it's dirty power). Since it is common to both amps there may be something in your house on the fritz that's recently started putting junk onto the house wiring. Start unplugging stuff. If you're in an apartment it gets a bit dicier :(

Does the speed of the annoying ticks change when you play with the vibrato controls on the amp? Are the ticks volume dependent --- that's is, the volume controls effect the loudness of the ticks?

I may be an amp snob but I am not an amp wiring guru by any stretch. However I do know that on occasion Fender amps can tick in the tremolo circuit when certain wires get pushed too close to that part of the circuit. Unfortunately I don't know which wires they are. I have experienced that same ticking on several occasions and my amp tech always checks the same thing first, which he calls lead dress. I don't know if that term will help you. He has never failed to correct the problem with nothing more than a zip-tie strap to hold the offending wires out of the way. Unfortunately I no longer own any of those amps otherwise I would simply take a picture for you. Hopefully my comment may help steer you down a path of investigation that leads to an inexpensive cure.

Thanks everyone for all great suggestions.
I too considered some of those, and was going to take the amps to a buddies house to see if the power changes things.

But, tonight no ticking sound, all gone.
I'd never heard this ticking before so it was new to me.

We have no new appliances or wiring changes in the house.

I'll have to keep an ear on it and see if it is related to something electrical being used at the time.

When it was there the other day the ticking was not affected by the vibrato controls.
The tick was louder as I turned the amp volume up, or turned the gain up on the pedals.
But even removing all the pedals and going straight guitar to amp the tick was there.
Very odd.
Glad it's gone...for now. :)

Interesting.
Thanks for the tip.

What you write work for vintage Fender amps , not new ones like Customs . :(

You might be right. I don't own any re-issues or new customs.

Those new amps may have only printed circuit , not point to point wiring like good vintage amps,

Still looking into what it can be.
The ticking came back last night.
Seems it's happening more so in the evening.
I'm in a more rural setting where there are not a lot houses close to each other.

ARRRGH!
This is going to drive me nuts trying to figure this out.
Maybe I'll have to start unplugging things, and turn breakers on an off.
But if it's coming in through the power lines I don't know what I can do?
Costly line filter?
Is there a way to check the power coming from the outlet to see if there is a noise in it?

I haven't spoken with my brother yet, maybe he knows of some gadget, that he hopefully has, so we can check out the line.
He's an electronic tech and he also extensive knowledge with house wiring.
Trying to get him out to my place with his schedule is the tricky part.
Hey, family should come first! :)
