Hi,

I've been having ongoing tube issues with it especially the power tubes. Barely played a few gigs with a new pair of JJ 6L6 only to find out they are ringing again. I read somewhere the reason they get destroyed quickly is the speaker vibrations.

Is replacing the speaker a possible solution or how to I tackle this issue? I ordered new sockets, but I'm sure tired of spending money on tubes.

Any ideas on how to approach the issue?

Thanks,

-George

Did you check bias and adjust it when you put new pair of tubes ?

Why news socket ? You mean tube's socket ?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I meant new tube sockets. I think this particular amp has self biasing.

Why new one ? You see they are broken ?

I think this particular amp has self biasing.

No , this amp it is fixed bias .That could be your issue , you must check bias. It could be too hot ( shorten tubes life ) or other electronic issue like resistor . No reason this amp can't keep tubes long time .

By the way, many self bias amp have wrong bias with new tubes. Self bias did not mean the amp do the bias itself . Self bias amp need less bias check than fixed bias amp, but best is to check sometimes

I will need to find a tech in the area I am in. I'm not sure if I can tackle the bias myself. Thank you for the info.

There is no pot to adjust bias , you have to replace resistor to change the bias , if needed.

Find a qualified tech in you area , if not, you'll loose your money and tubes in few months / weeks .

If you're referring to tube rattle: http://www.eurotubes.com/store/pc/eurot ... 0rings.htm OR
