Fender 1968 Silverface Princeton reverb handwired ALESSANDRO PTP point to point
Any one here know anything about this or have one, does seem interesting

Oh BTW I do not own this nor do I know the owner, I am thinking about getting one, but I am still on the fence as to wait for the right vintage one to come my way, but I am getting impatient waiting

I've been to that store a few times and played through a hand-wired PRRI and DRRI. To me, they didn't sound much different than the stock circuit board amps. Maybe it's because George uses the stock transformers and tubes from the reissue amp instead of upgrades.

+1

My guess is he knows if he increased the price point any higher people would just buy something else.

I also don't know why anyone wouldn't buy an original silverface for the same price.

I don't know anything about vintage amps, but I've always wondered about one thing:

From the pics I've seen, the "board" in old Fenders looks like a thick piece of black cardboard and most appear to be warped or curling up to some degree. This can't be good, can it? In the hand-wired reissues, George uses a quality, solid board which IMO has got to be better than a thick piece of paper.

If George would use better transformers, I'd consider buying a used DRRI and paying the $500 for the conversion.

You may ask him at special order . At this price I would buy the original Silverface
