I have a Fender Twin Reissue. It's loud of course, I am rarely ever able to get the volume over 3 in gigging situations. Not a big deal but...

I have been looking at this Bad Cat Unleash box for a few reasons:
1. It has an effects loop which would be nice.
2. I like the 2 channel deal where I can get a nice solo boost without dealing with volume pedals etc. in the front (which I have never liked anyway).
3. And... I can do some attenuation to boot.

I don't really want to get into a long discussion about attenuators. I am not interested in pushing the amp just to obtain some breakup... I realize this isn't the amp for that and that's not what I'm looking for. A Twin is for big clean headroom, I know that. It works just fine with pedals and I am quite happy with that.

That being said...

I HAVE read that you really want to get the volume up to 5 or so just to open this thing up. To be honest, I have never really spent any time at that volume checking this out because, well, it's just too loud.

I guess my only question is, has anyone tried one of these boxes (Bad Cat Unleash) with a clean amp like a Twin? Does it help with opening the thing up a little at a lower volume? It's kind of a pricey little box and although I like the added features if it's not going get me anywhere sound wise there are other avenues to pursue to get those features.

Thanks!

This is contradictory, as you want to get the volume up, but it is too loud..... :?

If you like the features of the attenuator, then get it, but it will do no good as far as "opening up the amp". The Twin Reverb is clean at any volume, and it gets loud above 1 on the dial.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

Does sound contradictory

A suggestion to the OP is to try the BB King approach; crank the amp, but control volume at the guitar. Works great for me.
