Just gotta say...first...it's so much appreciated that there is a resource like this forum...there are a lot of things that I'd never be able to do otherwise.
Second...I have some pretty nice amps...this SCXD continues to impress me. I usually just use the clean channel. I forgot to mention that I also use a Deluxe Reverb...this little amp hangs in! I put a Delta Demon into it...I may get another one.
One thing I would like to try is that Newell cabinet, but...$$$$
We shall see. Okay, off to adjust the PUPS on that Goldtop.

There is no problem having the TP resistor and using bias probes, the probes likely being more accurate than the TP. Plus, with the probes you can check each tube to check matching, and you can't do that using the TP since the TP is for both tubes.
