Tired of high priced tube combos? Not that I’m selling my Fender tube amp. Think of creating music, with a new guitar sound. Why is everybody so tube crazy? I just purchased a Fender 100W, 2 -12”spks, with chorus, delay, reverb, with vibro-tones, cabinet size of a Twn-Rev. under $250 new-in-box (using a Christmas sale discount). Anyway, it’s a Champion 100.

Classic looks Fender style, but they forgot the Jewel light, despite the plastic grill logo. Peavey uses a LED under a jewel lens, which works for me. Fender’s just forgetting their heritage. On the Bls-Jr. it took them to Series III to put a jewel bulb on it?

Just the cost alone makes it worth it. Spkr. grill is removable by Velcro tabs. Can’t argue with 2-12” spkrs and so many variable controls. Simpler than a Mustang, not so processed. I’ll cover the LED with a jewel bulb. Anyone else brave enough to go against the Tube parade? I like my purchase, it’s still a lot to dial in.

You always have for your money .

Tubes amps are not the same as solid state amps like Champion 100 .

Two different beast.

I own both amps and I never use my solid state amp since I heard how nice and warm is the tone of my tubes amps.

$250 is a good deal if you can't buy a good tube's amp

Jackhammer, I absolutely agree with you. Currently I own two Mustang III's, a Mustang I, a Mustang Floor, and a new 68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb. I've owned two 65 Twin Reverb Reissues (best amp in the world BAR NONE), a 65 DRRI, a 63 Vibroverb Reissue, Custom Vibrolux Reverb, Marshall JCM 900, a 80's Carvin 60 watt tube amp (forgot the model), a Crate, Fender RockPro 1000, and a 63 Carvin 10RA head tube amp which was my very first amp!

These modern solid state amps can hold their own against tube amps and I may have bought my last tube amp.

Nonetheless, everyone's ears hear things differently and everyone has their own opinion. Basically, there is a lot to like about both, but there are those who would NEVER go solid state. And that's fine too :D

Merry Christmas to All!!
