I've had a white Kustom 100 since the late '60's and I sometimes use the 8 ohm cabinet with 2 CTS 12" with my 65 DRRI, 68 DRVM, or Supersonic. It really has a different sound - probably because it's a bass reflex cab. It's a bass cabinet, but I don't really use it for bass anymore. Anyways - what's the story with the CTS speakers? Are they any good or would replacing them make the cab sound better? I couldn't get expensive speakers, but something like the Jensens that come in the DRRI?

Red...CTS made some GREAT speakers in the 60/70's, their 10 inchers whether Alnico or Ceramic are some of my favorite vintage speakers. I had the alnico 10's in a 72 Super Reverb I had and they would talk to ya! My 65 Super Reverb has the Ceramic CTS's and I would have a hard time choosing between the two different speaker. In fact I liked the sound of the CTS's so much, when it came time to replace the non original speaker in my 64 Princeton I went with an CTS alnico...short of a vintage Jensen P10R there isn't a better speaker I could have put in that amp!

I don't have much experience with the 12 inch CTS's but couldn't imagine they could make a 10 so good but not a 12! And it sounds like you digging the tone!
