Bought a new Blues Jr III limited edition with cannabis rex speaker. Love it except for a couple of issues.

- Soft tick sound about every 12 seconds *** solved, see note below ***
- Some static (did not notice it until I made the video)

The tick sound is at about :35 :47,1:00, 1:12, 1:25, and 1:37 (on stopwatch) in the youtube video. No cord attached. Volume and master at 12 with fat on for illustration purposes. *** Update : the tick was from a weather station that was about 2 feet away from the amp ***

Any suggestions (hopefully something I can check without going the authorized dealer route)? I got the last one, so I can't exchange it.

Thanks!

Check tubes. Look at tubes if you see some flash / spark .

No spark , could be a tube too.

First thing to do;

Amp to OFF and unplug to wall outlet.

1- Clean all tubes sockets ; spray contact cleaner with no lubricant on tubes pin ( tube remove )

a- Plug tube and remove it few time to clean socket and pins

b- No contact cleaner ; unplug and plug tubes many time this may clean contacts

________

Second test if needed;
You can remove one tube ( 12XX7 ) and power amp ON . listen , no tick = replace this tube .

Thick ; plug tube and remove other one .

The ticking is more than likely some appliance near the amp, or on the same circuit, interfering with the amp. The static could be a tube issue, or also outside interference.

You might try the amp at some other location, maybe someone else's house to determine if the noise is caused by the amp or from outside interference.

Is that a cell phone on top of the amp? My amps pick up a lot of static and weird sounds when I have my cell phone any where near it. Try recording with camera and phone backed away several feet, Just a thought.

Lots of electricals and electronics devices may do noise.
