I've just ordered a Blues deluxe reissue, and as I'm somewhat of a geek I'm trying to find any info I can about the amp.
I know it's a reissue of the blues series of the nineties, but can anyone tell me if the deluxe is directly inspired by any specific vintage amps? I can't seem to find anything about this on the interwebs.
All details are appreciated, none too small or insignificant :)

Thanks

About that link...

The BDlx rectifier is solid-state, not tube. None of the BDlx are worth anywhere near $1100, not even close.

A very good amp and even better if you upgrade the speaker in it. Also keep in mind, that the 3 preamp tubes are all 12ax7 and that is a generic lineup. 2 of the 3 preamp tubes should be substituted for lower gain values ..this combined with a speaker upgrade will render a fantastic sounding amplifier. These hot rod amps are based off of the 59 Bassman circuitry for the most part with a few extras such as a second gain stage and reverb. I chose the Jensen C12-K 100watt speaker as my speaker of choice for my upgrade in both my blues deluxe reissue and hot rod deville 212.

good luck with your new amp..enjoy !

What do you think about your Jensens?

First and foremost, taste in anything is purely subjective to each player. For me, the Jensens really sing out and hold together exceedingly well as the volume dial comes up. One of the things I noticed immediately, was that all the EQ adjustments on this amp are much more responsive with these speakers.

I'm sure that most any other speaker would be a huge improvement over the stock speaker which is way down on power for an amp this size.

Agreed. I purchased one in '95 new from the GC in Chicago (Cicero Avenue) for just over $400. It was a neat amp to own at the time. I sold mine around 2000 for what I paid for it. Fourteen years later, I just do not have the itch to track down another one whether it is priced at $400 or $1100.

This one is owned by a friend. He checked for offers awhile back and was very disappointed that it had not gone up in value. This was part of a custom set, amp, guitar, case, all covered in the "Moto" (I think it's called) finish, with a special stand that holds amp and guitar. He couldn't even get anywhere near what he paid for the set! My guess is that the guitar is the most valuable part.

I bought a new one when they first came out in the 90s. I really liked the amp. It packed a powerful punch. It was my only amp for a while

I traded it for a Marshall amp( that used to mine) after I had it a few years. It was not until this year I found out how popular they are now.

I was thinking about trying to get it back. I know the guy who I traded with. He moved out of state. I caught up with him online but he dont want to get rid of the amp now.

I have a friend who has a MIM reissue. He likes the amp and he want to keep his too.

When I saw the prices they or getting for used ones, original and reissue ,even new I decided they are not worth it. To me anyway.

I am amazed at how a good speaker affects EQ variability. Replacing an Emi with Weber made both my amp and guitar produce frequencies never heard before. The three settings on my Tele were each rich areas of sounds newly discovered. I have a HRDlll with a C.Rex in it and it gets lots of compliments. This morning I ordered a 100 watt hemp cone Weber alnico Blue Dog, their Celestion Blue Bell version. Getting that sound with a 40 watt amp should be a pleasant earful.
