I have a external cab rated at 4 ohms, and i noticed the Blues Deluxe actually has a 4 ohm tap aswell as a 8 ohm tap!

Can i wire the amp so that the 4 ohm tap goes to the external spk. jack? And then run the internal 8 ohm speaker to the regular jack and the 4 ohm cab to the external jack?

You can't have an 8 ohm jack and a 4 ohm jack at the same time, it doesn't work that way.

While the internal speaker is plugged into the main jack, the amp output is set to 8 ohms, and plugging another speaker into the external jack switches the amp to the 4 ohm tap, total for both jacks connected speakers. The idea is to use the internal 8 ohm speaker, the amp tap is at 8 ohms. Then plug in an external 8 ohm speaker along with the internal 8 ohm speaker, the amp tap is switched to 4 ohms to match the impedance of two 8 ohm speakers in parallel. So, there is no separate 8 ohm tap and 4 ohm tap that can be used at the same time, it's either 8 ohms total or 4 ohms total.

If you want to keep the impedance matched when using only the 4 ohm external speaker cab, plug the external speaker cab into the main jack and plug a dummy jack into the external speaker jack, and this will switch the amp to 4 ohms.

If you use the internal speaker plugged into the main speaker jack, and plug the 4 ohm cab into the external jack, the amp will be set to 4 ohms, and the resulting speaker load will be 2.66 ohms. This would be fine since the impedance mismatch would be within a 2 to 1 ratio.

Try it and see how it sounds. My guess is that you will lose a lot of tone and volume, but only one way to find out.
