My Blues Junior amp (about 3 years old) has a loud hum - here's what I know:
-more noticeable when FAT engaged;
-Worse when volume knob is turned up (as compared to master knob).
-goes away when my guitar volume knobs are turned down.
-I tried swapping around the V1-V3 tubes, but this doesn't seem to help.
-I tried different cables, guitars, power outlets, but no effect on hum.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Problem look coming from outside the amp ; guitar , guitar wire

No hum if nothing is plugged in.

It is not the amp , check your guitar , wire ...

If hum was from the amp it hum anytime

Try your guitar and wire on other amp

Thanks. I don't have the same problem when plugged into another amp with the same cable/guitar. Could it be the input jack of the blues junior?

That is what it sounds like to me. Maybe poor/broken solder joints on the jack?

Sounds possible, but I'm taking it to an amp tech. Will report back.
