Hi,
As an alternative to power soak devices, can I use an 8 ohm high power resistor connected to the extension speaker socket on my newish Hot Rod Deluxe. Seems like I would loose power via the extension socket & reduce overall volume ( by 2?).

Also is it easy to change volume pots to audio taper?

Thanks

Dave

All volumes are Audio taper in this amp as most amp .

B linear volume pot do not make a amp louder.

8 ohms resistor will not change any volume at your ears. Nothing you can do at this external plug if you don't want damage you amps
.
There is some kind of volume pot you can use in line in / line out wich can drop the volume safely

Invest in a good speaker Attenuator

Be advised this IS NOT an attenuator in the sense most guitarists think of, but it may help you...it did for my BDRI.

Thank's IM4Tone,

No it is not attenuator but cheap to build . Con ; you can't drive you amp at the "sweet" spot like you can with good attenuator .
