is a 22watt limited edition...(black?)...special run. for how long i don`t know. I`m thinking hard on getting to go with an Avatar vintage 2x12 cab w/celestion G12H`s(Heritage w/55 cones). Any thoughts? Any opinions welcome! I am looking to play contemporary blues. Think EC`s voodoo chile and double trouble, any SRV stuff, Robert Cray, etc.I have no problem with loud. I think the earlier breakup on DRRI than on twin reverb breakup is most desirable and DRRI is between 65 Princeton reverb and twin reverb. And i love clean PUSHED and Dirty Blues. Am i on track?

Sounds like a great combination to me. Can you get a chance to test drive the amp and cab, before purchase?

Good luck, on your hunt.

no i can`t try out i already have the speakers in storage. I`ll have to buy the empty cab speakerless. I bought the speakers intending to do the cab a yr ago and never did. The head is a gamble. If it`s anything like what i read/watch/review on youtube for the combo the head should be great!? What do you Fender guys think?

Doesn't sound like you could go too wrong w/the genre & tone you're looking for. Just make sure the cab is as purty as head.

thanks for the reply`s. I`m not SURE about this specific amp for this tone and genre. That`s my number 1question. That`s definitely the tone &genre i want to work with! That type blues for sure. When i say a clean amp Pushed hard or dirtyblues i hope i`m speaking the right words. The breakup & tone is mostly what it`s all about. I`m thinking i could live there with the DRRI @ 22watts. I had a 30w JTM45 a while back so i`m kinda using that for a volume reference. Both being non master volume amps. That`s really the 2nd big question. Volume...Some good breakup at a loud volume(gigging level). For less volume than that i do have a power attenuator if needed. My research led me to the Deluxe Reverb.Other than the $$$$$$$$$EC amp series this may be most FITTING for tone & genre while still at a proffesional quality level? What is pecking order between Vintage & Pro Series? Thanks guys.

You won't be disappointed w/the breakup on the DRRI. At around 5 or 6 on the volume nothing sounds better. That's what it's known for. i.e. The legendary tone.

That`s a very good answer on the tone!.....Now #2.what about gigging volume(head w/2x12)playing with a strong drummer @ same5 or 6. Are we loud enough? The other choice seems to be standard combo Super Reverb w/45watts. I watched the video`s on Fender site. Honestly both of these sound fantastic! I almost ordered the head today but decided to take a little more time. I'm thinking about overall volume when it's dialed in?One of these baby`s will come home with me soon! Thanks
underpowered!22w vs overpowered?45w

I do not want to shoot myself in the foot and get underpowered!22w vs 45w?

I don't gig, but I can tell you that I can't play @ 5 or 6 w/o complaints from my neighbors & w/o getting ear aches. I have the 112 combo. A 212 could move twice as much air. Hopefully someone else can give you a better answer. JMHO I'd gamble w/the DRRI. But if you're concerned just go w/the Super. You'll prolly get more clean overhead w/the Super.

Thanks for the message Arjay. I will have to rethink my speaker setup for an 8 ohm cab. I have All 8 ohm speakers which allows me a 4x12, or a 1x12. AndUsing both jacks I have to study that. Thanks!
