It could be that my ears are playing tricks on me but it seems that I need to crank up the reverb knob on my 2-1/2 year old HRD to around 6 in order to get the same amount of reverb I used to get at 3.

Is all this in my head  or is there another explanation?

I don't know how relevant this may be but just for grins and giggles I set up my BJr. to approximately the same output with regard to volume level and tone and the reverb was around 3.

Thanks & Cheers!
BM

    HRD: Input = 2 / Vol = 5 / Treble, Bass, Mid = 12 / Reverb = 6 / Presence = 9
    BJr: Vol = 2 / Treble, Bass, Mid = 12 / Master = 12 / Reverb = 3

Try new set of cable from the amp to the reverb pan . Clean contact first ( RCA connectors )

Try new reverb pan .

Op amp U2 ( U2A/U2B ) ?

+1. I had a reverb tank die on me on a relatively new Hot Rod Deville a few years back. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the problem.

LOL! You know shimmi I actually DID think about you as I was writing the post so before clicking "submit" I tried Input 1 as well. :D

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. The article DarkPenguin cites is very informative and interesting. Stratele I had to Google "Op amp U2 ( U2A/U2B )" to get even a basic idea of what this means so I'm afraid it's all way above my head. You are correct that this is not a case of the reverb dropping in and out. It's there but at a lower level so to get the reverb I used to get at "3" I need to go to "6". Plus ou moins

The amp is still under warranty so before attempting to change the "reverb pan" I may try different cables but taking it to a qualified tech is probably a better idea.

Cheers!
BM

The reverb cables are soldered to the board, no changing them without pulling the board and unsoldering.

Bluer Monkey ,

These cables attached to the inside of the amp should not be a problem because they are not exposed as the cables of Blaxkfaces who are more vulnerable.

It is not easy to advise on a repair without the amplifier ahead

Of the items in question the reverb pan is the most likely to fail. My bet is a broken spring or a problem with one of the coils that send or receive the signal in the pan. If there was a problem with the voltage to the op amp you should see serious distortion of the reverb signal. It's rare to have cables fail with out they being physically move or damaged. The reverb pan on the other hand gets knocked around every time the amp gets moved.
