stratele52,

- The chassis is always ground. Non sequiter.
- The plastic jacks on the BJr I and II are isolated from the chassis, no matter the reason, unless there is a metal tab at the top to connect it to the chassis. The BJr III schematic indicates that these type of jacks are used on the III, connected to the chassis.

You might be right, connect the jacks directly to the chassis and see if there is any noise. :?:

I found the washers at the local HW store for something like 25 cents each so I think I'll use em. Can't hurt, right?

Just need the tip short jack to show up. Still not sure it is needed for the blues jr but might as well use it.

Is there any reason to replace the 3 22uf 500v caps? I bought replacements for reasons I don't fully understand. I thought they were leaking but once I got the board out (green board BJr I) they looked peachy. I am mildly concerned about ripping the existing ones off of the wad of glue under them.

EDIT: Actually the washers are nylon. I believe nylon also conducts nothing.

Yes , but if the amp circuit common is not at the chassis you must use insulated jack . Not here , ground and common are same so you can use steel jacks like Switchcraft .

Shoulder washers, right? One flat and one shoulder. I'm throwing them on because it seems like it doesn't matter and they were cheap and I was getting lunch next to the hardware store.

You just don't need them !

Without the right shoulder washer , the jack will touch the face plate chassis by it side , it will not be isolate .

You don't understand how a isolating washer should work . It is not only a sandwich ....

Anyway it do not mater if jack touch the frame , you don't need them

I had reattached the plastic switch while waiting for the (what turned out to not be an actual) switchcraft. It had come apart before the new plug arrived. Amazing.

Anywho, this is a highly recommended mod. The new plug has a much more solid feel and is much more difficult to pull the cable from. And the shoulder washer and flat washer did fit. It wasn't needed but at least it matches the original design.

Thanks for everyone's help!
