I have a Fender Twin reverb that I want to use as a head for recording bass. Would it be ok to plug a bass cab in (external out) and unplug the internal speakers. It's a 1x15" 8 ohm cab. I know the twin is 4 ohms, would this damage the amp in anyway?
Thanks!

Not a problem, the amp works equally well with a 4 or 8 ohm speaker load. You will get the most power out with a 4 ohm speaker load, but sound can be better with a slight mismatch. It is best to keep the impedance mismatch to within a 2 to 1 ratio, high or low. Now, how it will sound is another matter. Check it out and see/hear for yourself.

Thanks for the info! I will give it a shot tomorrow and hopefully it'll sound pretty good.

That 1X15 cab will need to be plugged into the main speaker output jack !!!! The same jack as the internal speakers were in!!!! Art

Yep, you won't get much volume using the external jack by itself.
