i don't like the stock hr deville speakers, so...
i'm looking into changing my speakers from stock to after market
any recommendations?
eminence speakers keep popping up as a good replacements, but what model/models are being used?
any other brands i should look into?
what about two different speaker models in the same cab? would that give a more balanced sound or just muddy up the whole thing? on the surface it sounds like a good idea.

I have two suggestions, Webers alnico speakers or Kendrick Blackframe 12's. Both are great speakers. The Webers site gives you a good run down on each so you can figure out which model you might like best...only you can figure that out.

I have a Hot rod Deville 212 and the Blues Tweed deluxe reissue and I have upgraded speakers in both of these amps over the last year. What kind of music do you play ?? What issues do you have with your stock speakers that they are not meeting your expectations ?? For me, I play 50s 60s & 70s Pop Rock n' roll..so this fit the job very well.

For me, the louder the amp got, the integrity of the stock speakers melted away very quickly. The stock speakers never responded that well to any of the amps EQ settings in my opinion and the speakers became very angry the louder the amp got..again without maintaining any sonic integrity.

I went with the Italian made Jensen C12-K 100watt speakers. These are the speakers that Fender use's in their George Benson Signature Hot Rod Deluxe amp. After I demo'd that amp, I knew those speakers had what I was looking for. Consequently, all the EQ settings on both my Deluxe and Deville changed because of the very responsive speakers.

Good luck in your quest for better speakers :D
