I know there is a thread on this already, but I wanted to post another one to give this updated information as the other thread seems to have gone dormant.

I contacted a seller on ebay, who is a gear dealer, and is selling brand new
68 CDV's.
Asked him where it's from cause Fender doesn't list this amp.
He said only small number of "respected" dealers were invited by Fender a couple of months ago and they got an initial early run of these amps and they are brand new units.
He also claims he contacted his Fender rep and was told there are no issues with those amps that those dealers got.

So I contacted Fender and a rep responded that the 68 CDV will be officially released in mid to late September.
I'm looking forward to checking this amp out, and wonder if it will be worth $1200.

Too early to tell! Hopefully Fender has addressed some of their quality issues of the recent past. I haven't read any significant number of quality issues on the other '68 Custom series amps, so Maybe????

I had a major urge for one when the info. leaked out early this year, but until they're on the market across all dealers and the reviews and demos start to be plentiful, I'm definitely holding off. :?:

...has anyone actually got one of these, or played one, or even seen one in a store? I'd love to get one, but I'd have to sell a couple of other amps to get it, and I don't want to do that 'til I know they're real this time! I have the '68 CDR and I love it, but the little extra power and 2 x 10" would be perfect!

...Wise decision. My amp tech has already seen a couple of these amps come through and he is not impressed with the internals quality. I hope Fender does up it's quality control as these are some awesome looking amps, but it has got to be reliable and be able to take the riggers of gigging before I shell out the $$
