Hi, first time poster here.
I'm a bass player, so forgive ignorance of finer aspects of guitar gear related stuff.

Got myself a nice Tele and a blues junior 3 amp 2 years ago.
Barely used it until a few months ago (busy playing bass). Light regular practice (3-4 hrs/week) at low volumes (7:00-8:00, level 2-3). 12:00 gain. I'd run a vox tonelab to it, with volumes at 12:00 on that.
After a few hours of playing (louder volume, perhaps 10:00-11:00), I'd experience a volume drop (fairly sudden). The sidemost power tube in the amp would glow hot hot hot! The paper on the tube is darkened and singed.

This exact same issue happened to the guitarist in my band who plays the same amp. At practice he'd get a sudden volume drop with noise, red hot tube at back. Powering down for a few minutes, the problems comes back. He had just bought his amp, so the shop replaced the tubes. Same problem. The fender tech guy couldn't reproduce the problem, and he had to bring it back a few times.

Is this a common problem with this amplifier? How can I fix this? Bum run from the factory found it's way to my local guitar shop?

Thanks for any help on this! I figured I'd check here online first, as the music shop folks didn't seem to be much help for my guitarist friend. I assume it's still under warranty.
Cheers,
Jesse

Hi jez79,

It sounds like a possible problem with the bias circuit, maybe not just a tube. It is possible that it is only a bad tube, but you might want to have it checked out.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

Problem is easy to fix by a qualified tech .The guy you see look not .

1- Bias check and adjust
2- Check resistors on power supply and those feedeing output tubes
