No need for a fan, I have a feeling that once the honey moon period is over the 6V6 tubes will be back in the amp... just like most of the other folks who tried this, including me. IMHO, the DR and DRRI's unique and sweet tone is all about 6V6 tubes.

You want more clean headroom get a different and more efficient speaker.

+1 on that.
Maybe also use JJ 6V6's.

As to the fan.....you dont need it, but might want it. I believe this little extra outdraft of heat away from power and rectifier tubes optimizes their life........with a plus of the tranny running cooler.
