I'll keep this short and to the point with one or two simple questions,...with so many tube outlets on the internet,...who do you choose to buy your tubes from and who has given you the best service?

My top three, in order. All have great service. AES has just about everything that I need, tubes (GT especially), speakers, caps, supplies. For the types of tubes that AES doesn't have, I use the other two. I have used several other suppliers, but not as often as these.

Antique Electronic Supply http://www.tubesandmore.com/

The Tube Store http://www.thetubestore.com/

Tube Depot https://tubedepot.com/

I buy mine from Eurotubes, JJ's, https://www.eurotubes.com/ They are very helpful, do what they say they are going to do and send me out the best sounding tubes I ever have had. (disclaimer, I have no financial or business interest with Eurotubes)

If you like NOS tubes...And I do for the most part. I have had several dealings with this place and always got first class service. Decent prices too!

http://www.kcanostubes.com/

But I also agree with Shimmi...Antique Electric Supply is the other place I deal with and sometimes I go with them because I may need other parts too and it is so convenient and lessens the shipping going to just one source. In fact I really like the TAD 6L6WGC-STR GE-Style small bottle black-plate tubes. I recently completed the refurb on my 66 Bassman and I wanted to see what was out there in new tubes and I am very impressed with the tone of my bassman with the TAD (short bottles fit much better) now as it sounds like a great blackface bassman should.

+1 on tubedepot. Its one few places that offer the EH 12AT7 long plate:

This has been EXCELLENT in my drri for reverb driver and phase inverter. Lasts longer and stronger than most nos.

srs-webstore

BEWARE!

srs-webstore is probably the biggest fraud on the net selling tubes.

One the payment is made, they disappear, no further contact possible ..

Most of my matched power tubes in the past were from Doug's, because I always got good matches.
But it appears that he's carrying a lot less brands lately and relying upon magic parts.

I buy my tubes from tubes store. I never pay for matched set of Output tubes since I discover they are always matched.

If you are looking for special selected tubes, for strength, quiet use, and matching/balance qualities --- Jim McShane is a very good source. He is knowledgeable, stands behind his products, and no-nonsense in his approach to tubes.

Best to email him, for special requests and availability.
