Hi Everyone, I'm sure this topic has been posted before, but I could not find a sticky thread on it.

My question is simple,

How come the Deluxe Reverb Reissue has a much higher price point, than the Hot Rod Deluxe. The Hot Rod has many more watts, which I think would equate to more clean head room. Is there better circuitry which makes the Deluxe Reverb Reissue superior?

Build quality, more circuitry, more tubes.

To me, and this is just my opinion on tone, whatever the cost and build quality, my Hot Rod Deluxe is the best sounding Fender amp I ever owned, and I have had many of the classic Fenders, 2 Deluxes one black one silver, a black face bassman, silver face Twin, Silver face Pro Reverb, Fender 30 not the new solid state one, the old with with tubes on a point to point wired board, and probably several more. My HRD is absolutely the best sounding amp I ever owned of any brand and I have had another 15 or so over the years from other manufacturers. Knock wood mine keeps on tickin and I have had it for 8 or 9 years. Of course tone is a personal thing, what I like could be absolutely hated by other players. But my$.02 is; the HRD is the thing..........

WTF does this have to do with the price differential between a HRD and a DRRI?

Very well stated and of course sound is purely subjective to each player. For years, these amps suffered with the poor quality stock eminence speaker in my opinion. the latest models which feature the Celestion G12p80 speakers are a huge improvement in my opinion. I also find that lowering 2 of the 3 preamp tube gain values, truly brings this amp into its own greatness. I think the price difference between the two amps is simply the legendary status that the Deluxe Reverb reissue carries with it along with a tremolo circuit and a better wood cabinet. The new 68 silverface Deluxe Reverb reissue come with a celestion speaker.
