Post subject: Channel Pop

I have an non recent Hot Deville, when I am playing and switch from the Drive Channel to Clean I get a very audible pop.
Is this a problem? a usual thing? and can I fix it? :?

Do you switch from footswitch or by the front panel switch ?

Same pop with boths switching ?

I read something about that on forum few months ago .


It need to be fix , I did not have chance to work on this issue for now .

I have to look on shematic ; cat it be a relay contact ?

Nothing you can do yoursef , you must see a qualified tech .

This amp is not easy to work on .

Quite possibly the mute circuit is faulty. There is a transistor that is turned on briefly to mute the sound when switching channels. It would require a meter (maybe a scope) and a little testing to determine if the circuit is working.

My fault, it is the Blues Deville with the mute circuit, not the Hot Rod. :oops:

What this mean a tech in training ?

Did you study electronic ? Learn how tubes and transistors working ?
