Hi everyone,

I advertised my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Lacquered Tweed Limited Edition amp. I listed it at $550 CAD.

Do you guys think this is a good sale, or am I underselling what I could get for it?

I scoured the internet and can't find them anywhere, I paid 799 for it at the time I bought it in 2007.

Let me know what you guys think. I thought about going the ebay route, but I don't know how I would do the shipping thing if someone outside of my city bought it (Vancouver, Canada).

any advice appreciated, thanks.

Maybe just a bit high on the price. I see them in excellent condition going for $450.00 and less. But you're not far off, and there might be some takers if you are willing to wait.

Your scouring skills could use some improvement. GC used section alone has dozens, many as low as $300. Ebay is loaded also, many for $400 and less. Forget the listed asking prices, check only the completed listings (green prices) to see the actual selling prices.

I hope that you read the rules about no selling on this forum.

Since the amp is a LE tweed model, it might command an added premium on the secondary market, perhaps an additional $75 or so.

Same thing in my area. But you're in Canada. In the States, they don't hold their value at all. But that said, I sold mine on the street for $475, GC only offered me $225 for mine.so I think you're in the ballpark for the LE if it's in really good condition. The problem is there are tons of Hrdlx amps around and the covering doesn't make them sound any better. If it has a better speaker in like a Celestion, be sure to mention it. It might help justify the price more than the tweed.

A guy in my area has had the same lacquered tweed amp advertised on CL the last several weeks at $400 and apparently no buyers. But, since I live relatively close to Toronto, I know that prices in Canada do tend to be a little higher. I don't think that $550 is too low at any rate.

It might be a tough sell. There are so many used HRD amps on the market. Some of the Fender Limited Editions were only limited by how many would but them until the fad wore off.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the response. I totally thought I would get notifications but I forgot to set them lol

In light of what you guys have mentioned, I decided I'm gonna drop the price a bit...

It has a better speaker I remember the guy telling, I think its a Jensen, but I have to check.

Umm. uhh..what is GC...

Given the design updates to the HRD I would only be in the market for a HRDlll if I did not already have one. 799.99 for a HRDlll vanilla/burgundy with a C. Rex 12" speaker, brand new.

Also, hrdlll's have the black with white writing. Much easier to see and read.

Good luck with your sale.
