Hey all!

I am about to buy a used '65 Reissue Fender Twin. I don't see anything on the amp that visually indicates it is a '65 reissue, like a decal or badge. How can I verify it really is?

Thanks much!

I've never seen anybody trying to fake a re-issue amp......

I'm not saying someone is trying to scam me with a fake, necessarily, but weren't there non-re-issue Twins being produced at the same time '65 re-issues were? I'm trying to differentiate between a 'standard' or current model Twin and the '65 reissue. Seeyumsayin'?

Thanks!

One clue: The '65 Twin Reverb Reissue has the word "Reverb" in the name, whereas the current production "Twins" do not. The TRRI has been the same since first issued, at least visually, maybe different speakers. There is no '65 Twin, so.....

Correct.

Excepting a couple of minor details, the '65 Twin Reverb Re-issue has remained the same since its introduction to Fender's line up in 1990. The first editions featured Eminence speakers while later models were equipped with the imported Jensini C12K. Initial versions had a dummy ground/polarity switch on the rear panel which was subsequently deleted circa 2005, coinciding with Fender's adoption of RoHS-compliant lead-free solder for all electronic products.

Whoooo!! THAT'S what I'm TAWKIN'!

Thank you guys, for the tips and info! I feel much more comfortable making the purchase now, as it has 'Reverb' on the front panel, and is loaded with Jensens. (And sounds awesome.)

Very much appreciated!

It should resemble this amp in most respects except for the speakers......

Same amp I purchased used, Mint condition. I waited for ages to get one. I could not ask for a more diverse amp. As loud as a half stack, yet soft and clean enough to play in an apartment. The sound is so unique, you know its fender. And teamed up with an American strat, hell it is out worldly. I love it. It is a mid 60's series, and they are identical. Us made. The spring is getting a bit worn out for virboto, but I use a Univibe and other effects anyways, but its there for mellow effects. Pink Floyd Echo's, Etc.

There is no spring for vibrato, only a tube. The tube driven reverb tank has springs, is that what you meant?

Correct. And the effect requires a footswitch to activate it.
