I've just picked up this amp - Princeton 65 (PR403)

Sounds great , but it sounds too loud with volume set to minimum. It's much the same on main or drive channel. Vol. 1 gives me around 86db and there's plenty more after that all the way to max.

Fair enough I can turn the vol. down on the guitar to a level comfortable for the neighbours , but it would be nice to have a little more control at the amp

PCB looks clean and unmolested, so any suggestions welcome here

Have you tried spraying the volume pot with contact cleaner?

This Combo sounds great. I'm very happy with it. The only shortcoming is that it has no master volume potentiometer. I solve this by using the effects loop: connect 'pre-out' and 'pwr-in' with a cable with resistor in it (in series). A 150 kOhm suit well for me.
