:?: :?: :?:

You'll be better served by familiarizing yourself with the 6V6GTA's standard performance characteristics as found in the RCA Receiving Tube Manual. Determine your amp's plate voltage for the output tubes then proceed from there using conventional biasing protocols for a class AB platform.

Thanks I will look into that. However the Power Tubes in my amp are marked GT6V6 S with a #5 Rating.

JJ 6V6S rated MAX is 14 watts per tube. I'd try 10 watts per tube in your amp & see how it sounds (~70% max). Check for red plating. Each pair of tubes will respond slightly different to idle bias settings, so some fine tuning of the bias maybe in order.

Your tech should know this and the specifics of "grade" rating as it relates to bias settings.

Good luck!

A repair man who don't know that is not a amp tech , keep away from him Mowgli77 before he do some damage to your amp

I hadn't told him the specifics about which power tubes were in there and he hadn't seen the amp yet, so my techs question is valid. Thanks for all your help. His question was "need to know values for your amp/tubes before he can start."

Follow BMW2002Ti advice

Schematics are not necessary to properly bias an amp. If the tech has any experience at all, he should know what to do. If he has to ask you about "values", I would look elsewhere.

If you want to send me an email address I can send you a copy, but any Tech should be able to proceed without one-all you need is the measured plate voltage and a Formula(or Bias Calculator).
