I purchased a new DRRI last month. The only change I have made is to replace the speaker with a Celestion Gold. I have the following settings dialed in:

56 Vintage American Stratocaster (2013)
Volume: 7
Tone: 10
Tone: 10

65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue (2014)
Volume: 3
Treble: 3
Bass: 7
Reverb: 2.5
Speed: 2
Intensity: 5

Problem:
When I run with these settings and lower the guitar volume below 7, there is no sound. But let 10 min go by and the same settings work, meaning tone is audibly heard. I am thinking, bad tube.

There is volume if the guitar volume is above 7?
Is it properly loud? And does that same setting get louder after the 10 minute warm up?

If there is volume with the guitar volume on full, and then it gets louder after a 10 minute warm up, then it could be a power tube taking a while to fully warm.
The tube is still functional if everything is ok after the warm up, but if it were me I'd get a new set of power tubes and save the set you have for emergency use.

Does the problem you describe manifest itself if you plug into the "NORMAL" channel?

I don't think this is caused by a bad tube. But perhaps, bad cold contact between the tube and socket. Sounds like the rectifier. Try good contact cleaner on the tube pins and sockets. Work the stuff into the socket by inserting and removing the tubes several times. See if that helps.

Good luck!

How about the volume pot on the guitar being the problem if it happens when you adjust the volume on the guitar?

+1

That's the reason I inquired about a duplication of symptoms using the amp's "NORMAL" channel......to begin isolating where the problem really lies.

Yes, good call, could be that as well.
"Dirty" connections between the tube pins and socket can cause a very slow warm up.
Proper diagnostics is better before spending money on something that may not be needed.
