Amp kit manufacturers get my money now.
I built one hell of a 5e3 clone that has seen over two dozen gigs since I built it and sounds incredible. Tweeds don't have a ton of headroom, but then again, I'm not looking for it. I can always use a 5751 preamp tube in V1 if I want to cut some of the gain. It's a simple adjustment. I just jumper the channels and let it rip. No pedals required. All my pedals are for the Egnater.

I can see why the vintage market is attractive. What is the word on the street on the EC Handwired series? Has it been successfully and will there be more? Maybe a Brown series....Hmmm?

I predict that the EC amps will be discontinued next year.

As I have a Victoria dealer within an hour of the house, I will swing down to Greenville to check them out. Looks like a little higher price point than the Excelcesior, though.

Looks like an amp to last a young man's lifetime.
