DRRI, 65 Twin Custom, TRRI, 68 custom Twin
I've found each of these amps in near new condition all for around the same price.
If you were making the choice, which one would get since all 3 are around the same price?

I just bought an HR DLX3 and really like the clean tones.
For high gain I've got great distortion pedals.
But I'm wondering if I can get an even better Fender clean tone from these other amps.

When you guys compared Fender amps what led you to finally chose the one you did?

There is no better clean than a TR in any configuration, including the RI. :!:

I have so many different amps, for that very reason, many different sounds.

Given that you want clean, and have pedals for the high gain, either the TRRI or the '65 Custom TR would be good choice. I presume that you meant a '65 Custom Twin Reverb and not a Twin.

I like my new 68 twin the best and I think it sounds more vintage over the RI amps

I don't own any of these amps so take what I write with a grain of salt. I played the TRRI, HRDeluxe, and DRRI side by side in the store and thought the TRRI had the best cleans, even at low volume.

I am interested in the 15" speaker in the 65 Twin Custom (I think that's the amp you're talking about). It's probably something best heard in person, deciding whether you like two 12's or one 15".

If weight isn't a problem, I would go with one of the Twins if you want clean tones. I had the chance to demo a '65 Twin Reverb Reissue and a '65 Twin Custom 15 side by side a few years ago and ended up rolling the Custom 15 to my car. It came with casters. :)

The crystal clear, enhanced bass response through the 15 inch speaker is what sold me. It's my favorite Strat amp.

Yes, the 65 custom with the 15".
I just missed out on a like new new 65/15".
It was about 2 hours from me and it sold for $655!
I had emailed the guy and he was interested cause he then wouldn't have to ship it, but it was on auction and I just missed it by a couple of hours as I was at guitar center checking out some Fender amps.
Arrghh! Snooze, you lose.

I couldn't be happier with the Custom 15 and I'm glad I had the chance to test both Twin Reissues side by side. I haven't seen another new one in any of the music stores I frequent and used ones don't pop up often.

A nice Strat or Tele plugged straight into that amp is all I need to experience true Fender clean tone bliss. :)
