I have a Blues Deluxe and love it, but I can't find a 30'+ footswitch cable. It looks like an instrument cable or speaker cable, but I'm not sure.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Dbedard67@gmail.com,

Although the factory cable is a speaker cable, an instrument cable will also work. I haven't tried a 30' cable, but have used a 20'.

I think Fender specifies a non-shielded cable for the footswitch because it's generally regarded as low-capacitance relative to a normal guitar or patch cord.

I don't solder or play with wiring, even though I know it's easy, I'd rather pay for a high quality cable.

So the consensus is any cable, speaker or instrument? I don't want to burn out a circuit.

In this case, you won't "burn out" anything. Worst case is that it won't work. I had this conversation before, and afterwards went home and tried an instrument cable (20') with my HRds and it worked. As Retroverbial pointed out, the speaker cable might be better, as that is what the factory supplied, but I do know that an instrument cable will definitely work.
