How much earlier can I expect break up using the blue coded Groove Tubes ?

I am replacing the original 6L6 tubes from my 1993 Blues Deville and thought I would try some of these.

one amp tech tells me to check teh bias another says bias is witchcraft and fairy tails and a way to ad to your bill.

Bah, groove tubes are just regular sovtek, Svetlana, etc... that are relabelled and charge you more *in general* (they have a few special ones)

Any ways i suggest http://thetubestore.com/
They are AMAZING. Ask them anything you want! :D
Look at the other 6L6's they have descriptions of the sound they produce and alot of information.

As for the bias, check the numbering and match them on their website so you won't have to re-bias anything. Most of the time it's not even necessary, your amp is usually pretty forgiving(with different range of tubes) or stick with the same model (6L6).

Also when i buy my tubes i specify the make and model of my amp so that they get the best tubes for my amp.

If it does need to get bias get a tech to do it, its easy but tubes can be dangerous (if you don't knwo what your doing).

p!

I didnt pay any more for the groove tubes than what they have to offer.

anyway I'm mostly interested in performance and not price.

I am hoping to get to breakup a bit faster using the blue coded tubes and wondered if anyone had tried them.

just trying to see if you could save a few bucks,
anyways, i did try two used super-sonics last week. (one with the white ones and the other had blue). One of them was a bit messed up but the blue tubes did respond faster. I can't really give you a number. But i liked that it could distort at lower volume.
