After installing the Eminence Cannabis Rex speaker in my Hot Rod Deluxe, I was not sure how much I would like it. It did nice things for my tone right away, but the more I use it the better it sounds. At first the bass notes were a little flubby, but it seems to be tightening up a bunch over time. Maybe i am just getting used to the tone but I sure like it whatever the reason is.

It is the sound I have been looking for, for many many years, and many many amp/speaker combinations.

Great to hear the Crex is doing nicely in you HR3.
Most new speakers tend to sweeten as they get played and worn in over time.
Some people hook up a new speaker to a stereo amp and let it play for hours and hours, like 20 or over to help break them in.

I just picked up 2 new HR3's, one in burgundy with the stock Celestion, and red/black with an Eminence "the Wizard" speaker. The red/black just got delivered to my home today. I haven't had a chance to really work with it. Tomorrow will be play and compare day between the 2.
The one with the Celestion sounds great. I LOVE the fantastic Fender clean tones of this amp and speaker. The high gain channel is "meh", but kind of cool with it's oddly colored distortion.

I got the amp for it's clean tones as a great canvas for some great distortion pedals I have. I have a Bogner Ecstasy Red pedal, Wampler Triple Wreck, and a
Fulltone Fulldrive 2. The Fulltone is a great boost pedal and it has a great classic overdrive tone. The Bogner ROCKS with this amps clean channel. I can get great gritty blues tones, Plexi like overdrive, all the way to saturated Metal tones.
The Wampler goes from ballsy hard rock to a very harmonically rich Metal machine.
This HR DLX3 is one awesome canvas for great pedals!

I'm really looking forward to try all this out with the Eminence speaker. :)
I've also got a 2x12 cab with Celestion V30's that I'll be plugging in as well.
LOVE the V30's with my Egnater Vengeance head, so I'm really excited to try them with the HR3.

My Hot Rod Deluxe is pre version III (Maybe version II). I use only the clean channel with a tube distortion stomp in front of the amp. My on board drive channel sounds great at very high volumes, but I am not enamored of it at reasonable volumes. Good luck with your new amps.
