Hello,
not so long ago I bought myself 2004 Fender 57 Tweed Twin. Well this is truly great amp.
I have two questions:

1. I wanted to pull out one of two rectifier tubes. Which one??

2. When did Fender Custom Shop start making 57 Tweed Twin Reisue? In what year was it discontinued and WHY??

Thanks!

Sergey22, Welcome to the Forum! :D

Are you pulling one rectifier to lower the output? As pulling one rectifier only cuts the current supplied by the PSU. And may have little effect on the B+. You may not hear too much difference in tone at lower volumes.

The re-issue 5E8 Twin amp debuted in 2009 and was apparently discontinued in 2012, likely due to lackluster sales......

As to which rectifier tube to pull, it shouldn't make any difference theoretically.

Hello and thanks a lot for your answers!

Well, there is a problem: I have here Service Diagram (schematic), where it says: Approved by .... Date: 14 Jun -04, then Checked by .....Date: 22 Jun -04. So that means the amp was made in June 2004??

2009-2012 production years are wrong, cause in 2005 Clapton played Cream Reunion through
Fender Tweed Twins Reissues(not twinoluxes). It's exactly the same amp like mine, 5 knobs, 4 inputs etc...

The Question is, in what YEAR my amp have been made? 2004?

By the way I saw also a used 2004 Tweed Twin for sale... So the 2009-2012 years are definitely wrong!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

Best Regards and thanX
Serge

Ampwares often gets their data wrong so I'm not surprised.
