Having a hard time finding a power Transformer for the super champ XD.

Someone said the Princeton reverb transformer works on the XD but supplies a tad more voltage to the tubes.

Is there a replacement transformer for the XD, that is not sky high in cost or if I can use the Princeton transformer, can it be used and do any other mods have to be done to use it?

OR, does anyone know of a decent priced transformer that will work on the XD?

If so do you have any links that would help me on this?

TIA

That's a pretty pricey piece of iron for such an inexpensive amp.

And used Superchamp XD's that work can be found on Ebay for under two hundred dollars.

Installing an expensive tranny like that in an entry-level amp is merely turd polish.

The diagnosis should be definitively confirmed before proceeding.

Nor cheap.

I hate to see folks flushing money away on unneeded parts.

Yes, the pt is definitely bad, open coil on the power side. Tried looking for the thermal fuse, but it is buried deep in the transformer. But my main question is what transformer will work as a replacement for the original.

I know there are direct replacement transformers for the XD but I also know that there are transformers that will work. I.E. Princeton reverb works, but I cant get an answer out of any manufacturers as to what the output of the tranny is on all the leads. Plus the Princeton tranny is A lot cheaper. I need this tranny to finish the Super champ XD, with special mods. cant say too much.

Thank you rockstar, but that tranny that you have the link to, is way too expensive. I need something in the $75.00 range, give or take a few.

" Someone said the Princeton reverb transformer works on the XD but supplies a tad more voltage to the tubes. "

Pretty sure a PR reverb or PR power transformer will not work as a power tranny. At least, not in this amp. You may need to gut a used Super Champ XD for the PT. The PT needs voltage taps for the tubes, heaters, and solid-state components.
