Well why don't you explain to us then stratele.

All I know is Bill ended up barring loads and loads of peeps on here due to his issues and problems. WTF is that all about?
A forum cant work without contributing members and many had left due to his attitude and issues. I'm surprised he hadn't been warned by admin!
His "buddies" on here don't help much either.

I for one really hopes he gets his head sorted and does come back. Just next time if there is a next time he wont feel the need to start believing his own myth.

Come back Bill

All I know is that by the time I had 4 posts, bluesky had already called me ignorant and an idiot, and retroverbial had called me a chimp and a dipstick and both had ignored me. Now, I took great delight in this and had a laugh, but I know that this type of behavior would offend and drive off many other types of personalities. Judging by bluesky's and retroverbial's post counts, I'm sure they have driven off scores of would-be positive contributors to this forum with their curmudgery over the years.

You guys obviously don't know Bill. It's a shame, he had a lot to offer.
Usually what happens is someone comes here looking for advice or an opinion about an amp. You will get tons of responses. The problems start when someone has anything negative about someone's gear. I gave up on that a while ago. I can't stand the HRD series amps and was seriously vocal about it. I'm a gigging musician and my HRDlx was a nightmare. I went to Egnater amps, mine is fine, but there are reports about the Tweaker series. I let people know about it whenever someone asks me about my Rebel 20. I build most of my own stuff now.

I've been called a bully as well and have been personally attacked over the years. I left, didn't announce it though, then came back a couple months later.

Everyone here needs to understand that if you don't like something or someone just ignore them, keep the snide remarks to yourselves. There a quite a few people here I don't care for. I just don't read what they have to say.

Bill, Arjay, Shimmy, myself and a handful of others tell the truth. Don't get bent out of shape if anyone disagrees with you, it's an opinion nothing more. Some sugarcoat it some don't.

I consider Bill, Arjay and many many others friends and when one leaves it's sad. Like I said, Bill had a lot to offer and his amp build documentation was first rate. Snowy's were too.
Keep chasing the seasoned amp repair and builder guys away and you'll spend a lot more time paying a tech for information some here give for free.

But you're probably the kind of person who always talk about what you do not know ?
how did I "talk like that"? I merely observed the discussion going on.

I don't believe I have said a negative word about anyone on this forum, and I am not going to start now. whatever his reason for leaving is his own business.

phreddybee, you didn't. I can clearly see what happened and you're not involved. I can't remember you saying anything negative about anyone. Some people just love to push other peoples buttons. Not referring to stratele52 or you phreddybee.

The foe list is a good blood pressure tool and can help keep the peace.

I love it when you talk dirty like that, Supro.

Just in case anyone is not familiar with the term 'snide remarks', here are a few examples:

bluesky636 wrote:
It is clear from your questions that you have no clue what it takes to design and build an amp. Do you have any idea what the circuitry is inside an integrated circuit looks like? Are you looking for someone to design an amp for you for free? It sure seems that way.

If you are hell bent on wasting money on this project, do some research on your own. Good luck.

That is the most idiotic statement I have heard in a long time. Idiotic and ignorant of common business practices.

Use your guitar volume control to adjust the overall volume. Lesson over. You're welcome.

You have four volume controls at your disposal: one clean volume, one drive volume, one master volume, and the guitar volume (or two). Learn how to use them.

If you have never dealt with a company before, I suggest you do a little research before you bad mouth them. Unless you enjoy looking ignorant, of course.

I will miss Bill greatly. He was a great asset to this forum. He sent children to their room for time outs. Some people resented his knowledge more than they recognized their own ignorance. He is an old school guy, like myself, who does not play politically correct footsie with people. No gold stars for just asking a question either. He would often offer information to a first time poster who joined only to ask a question a leave when satisfied. They took and gave nothing except the kind of aggravation that comes from an entitled world view.

Bill is an exceptionally good man with a good sense of humor. He did not suffer fools gladly and I always smiled when he cut through the BS.

Happy trails, Bill.

whew- strings10927:

The. Prosecution. Rests.

I don't wish anybody gone, but if they want to leave, buh-bye. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought he could use some lessons in manners. He's not the only "amp guru" I have seen act like this on forums. If you don't want to give away your precious brain power, knowledge, and experience for free- that's you're prerogative. But don't come on a forum where players are looking for information to help them, dangle the "I know" carrot in front of their nose then say "but I'm not going to tell you."

Maybe amp gurus who aren't comfortable giving knowledge away shouldn't be on player's forums where people are looking for information.

I'm glad we have people like strings10927 keeping tabs. Must be a lot of work.
I'll still miss Bill way more than some of the guys who are here just to aggravate people.
As rough around the edges as he is, he still helped way more people here than our tab keeper here. No offense.

No, Modwiz spelled it correctly. Asset, as in someone who actually contributed something to the forum and actually helped some people along the way including me. I learnerd a lot of technical information from him, Arjay, Shimmy, Snow, BMW and others. It's clear to see that Bill got his attitude FROM the asshats.
