I am really surprised this topic is still active. Bill is most likely just wanting to move on. I respect his advice even if sometimes I haven't agreed with everything!

Initially I was going to ignore this challenge, since each time I've tried to engage in a conversation with you (on a subject about which we disagree) you have taken words out of context or have ridiculed and insulted my viewpoint, opinion or experience.

I considered searching and quoting specific posts, but that would be petty.

I eventually decided to humor you and dignify your challenge. I am being respectful here, and I hope you will do likewise. If you aren't (or if you just can't be respectful), I'll just chalk this up to a few wasted moments of life.

On a thread discussing how some players are able to get a variety of tones without the use of pedals, you ridiculed my stance (borne of experience) that the overall tone of a performance can be altered by changing picking technique, using/not using a pick, and changing the way the player uses their fretting hand. I assume you haven't mastered those techniques, because you sarcastically and derisively attacked the supposition.

You derisively charged that tube amps were less reliable, too expensive to operate and maintain, and too delicate to transport under normal gigging/performing conditions. When I responded with a list of my personal experiences, detailing that your supposition was (at least) "lacking" in evidence and real-world experience, you misread my reply, accused me of passing unnecessary costs to the person(s) who bought my amps (which was untrue, and obvious to anyone who took the time to read my post and has decent reading comprehension) and refused to (reasonably) admit that both platforms (tube and digital) could be cost-effective. When pressed, you insinuated that anyone who continues to use tube amps are ignorant luddites and/or stuck in the "old school"...this was in spite of the fact that I agreed that a digital amp could be a useful, although disposable tool (due to the inability to repair the device).

You freely toss around labels like "douchebag", etc., when you disagree or feel "victimized." Although you can (and probably will) point out that other people have thrown such words around, that doesn't make it right...I don't condone their actions, either. Also, the other people who may be using such words don't immediately retreat behind the "I'm being bullied" shield afterwards.

Further evidence of your bile and rudeness can be found in the majority of your posts on this particular thread.

I could go on, but these examples are indicative of my point, and it's honestly not worth my time.

416 words ... I can only imagine if I was worth your time.

Thanks for the generalizations. My guess is you went back to quote me and came up blank. Or at least nothing on the level of Bill's "bile and rudeness" quoted earlier in the thread.

Nah, sorry but Bill was a dick to a lot of people, and an elephant never forgets. So I was here to post a "welcome back". Send Bill a PM and perhaps he will let you know how to work an ignore list. Bill was all about the ignore list.

Hmm.
Just as I suspected. No matter what was said, you'd figure some way to ridicule and dismiss it, and throw a vulgar insult to someone along the way.

Yep. I wasted my time. Oh well.

Wait, what? Actually, I wasn't talking to you:

I don't think anyone anywhere is foolish enough to think they can emulate a phaser/flanger/chorus pedal with just an amp, a guitar and a patch cable...

In response to:

In addition to the volume controls on guitar and the controls on the amp there is also your pick attack. Plenty of variation in gain can be had simply by controlling how hard you pluck your strings.

Not to mention all of the above is from page 1 of a thread you didn't post in until page 2. Care to try again?
