2 questions - I have a Supersonic 112 and it has a loud buzzing/humming sound any time the reverb is on - the higher the reverb setting, the louder the buzzing/humming. I tried an experiment and connected the Supersonic's reverb in and out to the in and out of my '65 Deluxe Reverb RI's reverb tank. And - the buzz/hum was gone! There was some background noise as I turned the reverb up, but nothing unpleasant. Question 1: I have a couple of '60's vintage Gibson Hawk amps with reverb - the reverb tanks have the same RCA in and out as the Fenders - could I plug the Supersonic's reverb in and out into one of the Gibson tanks or might I possible damage something? Question 2: Since the reverb buzz/hum must be in the Supersonic's tank or the cords to it, what could I do to fix it short of getting another tank? As always - thanx for the help!

I had taken the tank out the Supersonic before and it hadn't helped, but I tried again and this time I moved the tank a couple of feet away, and sure enough, the buzz was gone! Still curious about being able to hook it up to the Gibson Hawk's reverb tank...

Ironic that Leo Fender pretty much perfected the reverb-equipped combo amp fifty years ago and today FMIC can't seem to wipe its own bloody arse......

You can plug any reverb tank same type ( with transducer) , no danger for the amp .

You need a new tank IMO

Amen to that!!!

I bought a new tank, a MOD, and the problem remained.

I took the tank out of the cabint, and the problem remained.

I saw Billy Zoom (of the band X) mention on another forum that it seemed to him (he received a Fender to work on), that the footswitch cable was acting as an antennae,...

...so I unplugged my footswitch, and turned the reverb up to 10.... silence. As it should be.

I'm not experienced enough to know how to apply that knowledge to the circuit to FIX it, unfortunately... AND the reverb in/out jacks are MERE INCHES away from the PT, so.... it may not be fixable? On old Fenders, the reverb in/out jack is on the OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE CHASSIS from the PT....
