Check the amp bias test point to compare to your bias probe. The test point is for both tubes.

Did you have a better sound now ?

Socket contacts need cleaning , just unplug and plug tubes few time may do the work. The use of contact cleaner is better .

How often should that be done? Curious! My HRDlx III is only a year old and I have not had any problems with it thus far.

How often ! Your amp need once a year

Most of the time just unplug the tube clean will contacts .

Or contact are loose and need to be tightened ?

Tubes pins and socket contact may be cheap today ?

I have never cleaned any tube sockets in any amp. I have re-tensioned a few sockets, and it seems very odd to me that a tube sockets would be "dirty", I don't buy it. Loose? Yes. Dirty? No.

I said "dirty " but it is not the right word .

High voltage on Output tubes socket may "burn" contact also oxide the steel on contact ... this kind of problem ......
More thigh are contacts and more often you use amp, better contact they stay "clean".

A amp unused for few months may have socket contacts problems.

Also , it may have different quality in steel contact ?

+1

In my nearly fifty-year relationship with tube amps (playing them, repairing them, restoring them) I can count the number of times I've had to clean tube-socket contacts on the finger of one hand. One......hand. And in two of those instances the gear was owned by a musician who made his living on the cruise-ship circuit, where his gear was routinely exposed to salt air.
