Is it O.K. to remove the two inner tubes to reduce output? Or the outside ones?

I understand this amp has a fixed bias . . . which Fender / Groove tubes should I get?

Any useful hot rodding or mods for this amp? Power soak? Patch cord from "normal" to "vibrato"? . . . etc

Either pair (inner or outer) will result in one push-pull pair. Be sure to check the bias, as pulling two pulls will raise the B+ voltage.

Idle Wattage = (idle biass current, in amps) times (plate voltage, DC)

Tell us how it works. My bet is the total loudness won't be that significant. OD tone maybe.

The Twin Reverb's bias supply is adjustable and channel jumpering will place the input signals out of phase with one another. When disabling two output tubes (which I do not recommend), the speaker impedance should be increased from 4 ohms to eight.

Amp will be very loud with 2 tubes anyway .

Use speaker attenuator !

+1 on both points.

The attenuator would be the more efficient method but regardless, the Twin Reverb was designed from the outset to be both loud and clean. It will never compress and distort as amps with a less-capable power supply such as the lower-output blackfaces (Pro Reverb, Vibrolux Reverb, Vibroverb, etc).

Good answer! Good answer!
You've confirmed my suspicions. Hey, I got the amp for lots of headroom clean. That's what it does best . . . why try and change it.
So . . . which Groove tubes are recommended?
