The ground switch was not connected on any of the Reissue Ampson which it appears IIRC. Which makes you wonder why they put it on, other than the guy ordering the parts off the paperwork inherited from the old days showed it and the guy didn't make the connection of it not being needed!

To keep the look of the original Blackface ?

The polarity switch was a feature of all re-issue Twin Reverbs up until about 2005/2006 (just as it was with the early DRRI) as this photo clearly shows......

I see two schematics of 65 Twin Reverb with Polarity / ground switch

All 3 contacts on the switch are write ; NC
No Connected .

IMO ,switch is a fake

Did you open you amp to see ?

Correct.

As can plainly be seen in this pic of a DRRI chassis, the polarity switch is visible and is connected to precisely nothing......

A total waste of an otherwise perfectly serviceable Carling switch.

Ultimately I re-tasked it to function as an impedance selector when I installed a multiple-tap output transformer. Thus, my DRRI can safely drive either a 4-ohm or 8-ohm load.

I am impressed Arjay! A wall of sound!!

Just checked my 2003 Twin Reverb RI & found the same thing! A cool unused ground switch!

The polarity switch would be deleted a couple years after yours was built, Brytam. That event just about coincided with Fender adopting that miserable, sleazy, rotten, terrible, disastrous, worthless RoHS-compliant solder across their entire line of amps. Thus the switch becomes a sort of visual yardstick to quickly determine whether the solder joints of a given TRRI or DRRI will hold together or not.
