Post subject: threaded nuts for 'on' and 'standby' switches

I have a '65 RI and a '68 VM Deluxe Reverb. Both have those stupid threaded nuts with rubber things that go over the 'on' and 'standby' switches - all I can think they look like are little baby bottle nipples. Anyways I really want to replace them with regular threaded nuts, but I can't find anything that fits at the local hardware stores. Any ideas where I can find these things? And, yes, I'll probably get electrocuted, but I used a lot of Fender amps without them for a lot of years and I'm still here...

It may be the same dimensions and thread configuration as the retaining nut for a ¼" phone jack -- pull one off of a guitar and try it.

...tried that - no luck - the 1/4 jack is slightly smaller. I've looked online at places that sell amp hardware and I haven't seen that particular part

You might just as well buy new switches to replace those. They will come with all hardware.
