Got an older Blues Jr. with white numerals. The numbers have been slowly flaking
off and pretty soon I wont be able to read my amp settings.

Any replacement decals I can buy? They wouldn't have to be white, Id be fine with black.

OP's issue is with the numbers wearing off, not the upside down names. This is what he needs:

In a week those Letra-set appliqués will have flaked off in the same manner as the original silk-screened numerals. Perhaps even sooner.

Got a better solution?

I've been using dry transfer lettering for years on various projects and they hold up quite well. My brother uses them on the HO scale model trains that he custom builds. Spray with a light coat of clear lacquer and they can last for years.

HO trains ain't made out of chrome-plated steel that routinely gets heated to 100+ degrees Fahrenheit, boss.

But be my guest.

OP, start to think of your settings in terms of clock display and there'll be no problem. After all, usually the sound/tone difference between the numbers 6 and 6-1/2 isn't huge, and the playing environment dictates changes larger than that. You still must tweak...it's just not that precise.

Gently worn equipment has character.

Something that *might* work are those little peel-and-stick colored dots as sold at many stationary stores. Use them to mark various combinations of control settings that provide the specific tones needed and color-code them together (say, day-glo green for Fender cleans, cobalt blue for heavy blues, red for Marshall raunch, etc etc etc). Staples sells them, about a jillion in a pack for like $1.98. When they fall off -- and they prolly will sooner or later -- just stick another dot on. Use the "clock display" analogy to position them as suggested by IM4Tone. I use these on some of the stompboxes on my pedalboard that require adjusting for specific effects and they work pretty well.

These are great ideas everyone.

I've used the dry transfers in the past on guitar control knobs themselves I and then put some clear coat over the final product. The effect of heat on the amp control plate is a good point I had not considered!

I will investigate some local hobby shops and if I come up with anything I'll post.

I was almost tempted to transplant some standard fender numbered amp knobs from my practice amp onto the Blues Jr., but read this last night and had second thoughts:

I had tried the Letra-Set appliqués some years ago on a client's battered and tattered tweed Bassman re-issue, a heavily gigged amp that was played daily. The new lettering looked great initially (I clear-coated the entire panel with gloss urethane to seal and protect the markings) but within a week they had flaked off much like the original silk-screened numerals.

The rub-on's will work fine......so long as the amp is never used.

No *might* about it. This concept works very well. Since I often change guitars and vary between super clean and dirty, I've use this technique often on various amps.

I've also used magic markers color coded to do exactly the same thing Arjay has recommended. The mark on a chrome surface is fairly easy to remove with a q-tip and some mild solvent or cleaner (even saliva  ).

Yeah I have little stickers around the perimeter notating my settings for probably 4 guitars. Except for maybe my Telecaster the Treble is always at 10, but my Mid and Bass has a bunch of stickers around them. If I played out and not at home I wouldn't care too much if the numbers flaked off cause your always adjusting for different environments/acoustics. I'm pretty nuts where I even put knob pointers on almost all my guitars cause I love syncing the sweet spots.
