I need the following I believe.

2 039362 CAP AE RDL 1000UF 35V LOPROFIL C47,48

I know the CAP AE is an aluminum electrolytic but what is the RDL meaning?

Caps should be pretty easy to get still, correct? Both of these have a dome at the top of the capacitor. They are no longer flat. I wonder if these are the cause of my humming??

Thoughts?

Would this work?

How does the tolerance come into play?

I ordered a coule different types from Digi-key. There is also a parts outlet here in town that should have them too. If not, I have the Digi-key ones coming in shortly.

Thanks for y'all's patience.

I believe that "RDL" = radial lead.

Another very good radial-lead electrolytic cap is the Nichicon MUSE KZ Series cap. 1000mfd/50VDC would work fine. I don't believe that you need a low-profile cap in this position. You sacrifice some electrolytic fluid content, for the shorter height. Which maybe why those caps failed.

Those two caps are in the +/- 16 volt supply, used for switching circuits for relays, and likely have nothing to do with any noise in the amp.

More importantly, you seem to be randomly replacing nearly every part in the amp, randomly chasing the problems, starting multiple threads about the same amp, without actually testing anything properly. You started with a "scratchy pot" and you replace every pot in the amp? You seem to be creating more problems than you are "fixing". What is the point?

Whoa! I didn't realize this was a multi-chapter experience. Anyhow, I've used Nichicon MUZE KZ and Panasonic FR caps in solid-state amps, with good success. They are quality issues. FWIW.

I ordered the other parts, but the R25 was the only one I replaced. I figured that if these parts ever went bad, I would have replacements. I was thinking ahead and only doing what was necessary. So I have a lot of extra parts, just in case.

As far as multiple threads, I believe in the thought that each issue should have it's own thread. That is how I worked technical support for many years.

I have been unemployed for 1.5 years and can't really afford to take this to a repair shop if I do not have to. I read that C47 and C48 have caused hum after I noticed the bad caps. I can solder, but I am not an amp repair guy. I can replace components properly too.
