So, you are not knowledgeable about tubes and you have a house on one of the many fine lakes in Arizona? OK.... :?

We don't have that many lakes here, Mike.

Yeah, lakes don't spring to mind when thinking about Arizona. I am not interested, but my brother skiptomy might like to check out one of those beach houses.

If all they sell is JJ tubes, and their website is full of tube info biased towards how JJ tubes are the best, how are they not a shill for JJ tubes? I've never dealt with them because after reading their site, I found them to be a shill for JJ tubes. Granted, they may be completely correct in their bias, but they are a shill nonetheless. I'm glad that you've had good experiences with them, but I'm not sure how it makes me ignorant that I don't deal with a company that only promotes one brand of tube, come hell or high water.

So do you refuse to buy from a Chevrolet dealer because they don't sell Fords? Taco Bell doesn't sell Big Macs? Can't buy Sunoco Super Premium at the local Shell station? So any business that caters to a particular product is a shill? That is the most idiotic statement I have heard in a long time. Idiotic and ignorant of common business practices.

You are creating a false analogy. Chevrolet dealerships and Taco Bell have absolutely nothing to do with Eurotubes.

That said, when you name yourself "Eurotubes" and have supposedly unbiased reviews of tubes on your site that come to one conclusion (that JJ tubes are the best), AND you happen to only sell JJ tubes (what luck!) then yes, you are a shill. When you go to a Chevrolet dealership, you know what you are going to see, because its called a Chevrolet dealership.

Now, if the site was called, I don't know, "jjtubesdirect.com" and they only sold JJ tubes, and all the reviews talked about how great JJ tubes were, then that would be different. But thats not what is going on here. They are shilling for JJ tubes, while posing as an impartial third party. I'm sure they have a direct line to the factory and get the tubes cheaper than anyone else but have an understanding that they will only sell JJ tubes on their site. That makes them a de facto factory direct seller. Nothing wrong with that, but the whole smoke and mirrors of impartiality implied by their name and the "unbiased" reviews makes it bs.

If you cannot or will not see what I'm talking about, then you are the one who is idiotic and ignorant of business practices.

I bow to your clearly superior knowledge in the area of tube manufacturing and sales. I anxiously await any further pearls of wisdom you may choose to share with all of us in the forum.

JJ? Tried them, didn't like them! Over on TGP they are having problems with JJ glass breaking clean on seams. Sounds like a new operator is screwing up in production.

Mick and Keef both are ignoring me? Say it ain't so. I'm sorry, I didn't read the FAQ when I joined the forum that the two of you are the only ones that have valid opinions about music. I didn't know that old men could be this sensitive.

Since I started this thread, I'll close the loop. This is my first tube buying experience. When I went to Eurotubes, I was never under the impression that he sells anything other than JJ tubes. He is totally upfront about how he came to be an Importer of JJ Electronics. If I want JJ tubes, I'll buy them there. If I don't want JJ tubes, I'll go someplace else.

I have a friend who owns a bike shop. He sells one brand of bikes. This brand happens to have several names under its umbrella, but they are all made in the same factory. He has an agreement with this company that includes not selling other brands. He could choose not to agree to those terms, and the bike company would still do business with him, but his dealer cost would likely be higher. He chooses to do business on their terms. If you ask him what bike you should buy, of course he'll recommend a name that he carries. Why on earth wouldn't he? He is in business to sell products. At some point when his customer demographic changes, he'll probably change his business model to match the market. I don't call him a shill. I call him a small business owner.

Getting back to the OP. TAD distribute nice 6V6GT's. They are Shuguang made. Tend to be a bit warmer tone than the EH 6V6GT. HTH!
